Good News! I've graduated! I no longer need any cervical scans! Stitches are holding strong and cervix isn't budging. I go back for another growth scan in 4 weeks.. I will be 35 weeks.Speaking of growth scans. I had my scan today (I have them every 4 weeks). I asked the tech to take her time as my scan 4 weeks before showed Gracie to be a week behind and my OB said, on Monday, that she felt baby is petite.Well baby is head down.. low, very low. As usual she was super active but we got all the measurements we needed. She is measuring between 31 and 32 weeks and weighs approximately 3lbs 13oz. I wouldn't say she's 'petite'.. I say she's perfect! After my scan I met with the Dr. She said everything looks great and that is when I officially graduated from having my cervical scans. They also took my blood pressure which happened to be fine. We also discussed the NSTs. She agree'd we needed to start them but she didn't agree with doing them twice a week at this point. WHEW! I'm down to 2 appointments a week from 3 or 4. I had my first NST today which I (actually Gracie) passed with flying colors.Oh, one last thing. In a week or two I will more than likely have to start taking insulin. Lucky me!More soon. I hope!
Gosh, where did the time go?! I think I started to write an update at least 3 times but never finished. I will try to finish this one and actually post it.I've seen the Dr or rather Doctors a bazillion million times. Okay maybe not that many times but it sure feels like it... and it's going to get WORSE!Anyway, up until today everything was going fine other than LOTS of braxton hicks!Today I saw my regular OB. I've been seeing her every 2 weeks for months now. Well now I am seeing her every week due to elevated blood pressure. My blood sugars are a little high as well. If they continue to be high I will have to go on insulin next week. It's mostly my fasting sugar. I can control my sugars during the day with diet.As far as my blood pressure goes. It was a little high today so we are doing the lovely 24 hour urine collection AGAIN! The Dr has also ordered NSTs (non stress test) twice a week. So lets see. I see my OB once a week and do the NSTs twice a week. That's 3 times a week I have to see the Dr/Specialist. Then you add in my specialist appointments which are currently every 2 weeks.. so those weeks I have to go in 4 times! Thank goodness I am due in approx 9 weeks!I will hopefully post another update on Wednesday. I have a growth scan that day. My OB feels Gracie is on the small side, or as she put it, petite.More later.
Receive e-mail alerts when this blog updates!I thought I better post an update before too much more time passed! Pregnancy Update:Last week I hit my first major milestone. I hit 24 weeks! 24 weeks is viability! Of course we don't want little Gracie to be born this early but at least if she was she'd have a chance. This week I had my biweekly cervical scan. My stitches are still holding strong so no bedrest for another 2 weeks, Yay! We also checked on Gracie. Her heart rate was 170 which is higher than normal. The Doctor didn't comment on it and I failed to ask about it. I was too dumbfounded by the position of my baby girl! She was head down (two weeks ago she was laying across my tummy) but the funny thing was she had her feet up over her head! She was literally folded in half! She had one hand on her calf and her other hand on her opposite foot. Guess she's practicing to be a gymnast. I honestly couldn't believe it. I don't know how she could possibly be comfortable! Unfortunately we didn't get a picture as we were too busy trying to get a 3-D of her face, which we also didn't get =( She's too much of a wiggle wart! Maybe next time!I go back in 2 weeks for another cervical scan and growth scan.I also had my regular OB appointment. Everything is going well except that it was time for my RhoGam shot (I am rh negative). The Dr sent me for a blood test to be sure I had not developed any antibodies. To learn about being rh negative and pregnant click here. Anyway, I've had two RhoGam shots already this pregnancy, once due to spotting early on and again after I had my stitches put in. Both times I had to be tested for antibodies which I did not have. This time I have developed an antibody so I could not get my shot. This concerns me because of what can happen if I become rh-sensitized. The nurse who gave me this news says that there is a good chance the antibody is from my last RhoGam shot. Evidently the antibody can stay in your system for up to 5 months. I have to go back in 3 weeks to test again. I am praying it is no longer there!Boys Update:Last week was Robbie's yearly med check with the neurologist. The doctor was very happy with Robs progress, especially in his communication. Seems the meds are doing their job (keeping his aggression under control) so we didn't make any changes. We go back in March '09.The boys also spent 5 days with their dad which gave Walt and I a nice break. Only problem is I missed them! I missed the chaos! Am I nuts?! Well I guess you have to be nuts to survive in this house! Speaking of NUTS.. It isn't just the humans in this household who are 'crazy' but the animals do their fair share also. Yesterday we couldn't find one of our dogs. He didn't come running to the door as he usually does when we come home. We thought maybe he was locked up with Punkin (the other dog). We finally found him... in the CLOSET! Okay so what.. but he was sleeping on a SHELF! I swear he thinks he's a cat!
